Technology

intelliSSL 360 Design™ is the interconnectivity between TSR technologies. intelliSSL intelligent software with local and cloud control, industry featured applications, smart devices & materials, advanced antenna integration and automated manufacturing strategies are key technologies driving the success and advancement of TSR's intelligent lighting solutions. Wireless mesh networking via Zigbee HA 1.2 enables a secure and robust communication protocol between devices with extended range and prevents single point of failure, additional protocols are coming.

Local Control

Most cloud-based wireless lighting solutions are 100% dependent on the internet for operation. When the internet fails, systems freeze and control is lost. Lighting disruption may cause safety or operational issues in key locations of a facility.

TSR’s intelliSSL does not rely solely upon internet connectivity for system function. A local instances of intelliSSL control and monitoring software resides on the on-site gateway, allowing direct wireless LANi access to ZigBee-enabled devices (no internet cloud connectivity required.) When the internet comes back online, the on-site gateways automatically update the intelliSSL cloud so no data is lost.

The benefits and savings afforded by wireless lighting solutions are numerous, from cost of installation, targeted preventive maintenance and reduced energy consumption to full flexibility of scheduled events and the ability to accommodate unplanned changes. All this makes local control and monitoring of such a system essential. intelliSSL Gateway maintains schedules, controls fixtures, and enables full mobile app functionality for scenes, groups, and indivudal on/off lighting control.

Scalable Architecture, Modular Software

intelliSSL is a scalable and secure hybrid cloud solution for industrial grade applications in hospitality, retail, entertainment, restaurant and building lighting systems. The strength of the intelliSSL system lies in how the system handles inevitable failures. Typical internet reliability is 99.5%, and outages are never conveniently timed, making local on-site control and monitoring the heart of intelliSSL.

intelliSSL is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Documented API libraries and “skin-able” apps can be tailored to meet your installation needs, whether they be keystroke monitoring, dual-cloud backup, onsite cloud, custom user privileges, or more, intelliSSL accomplishes such customization by using structured “modules” of system software functionality that have already been developed, debugged and used in other installations, resulting in faster deployment of stable software, each and every time.

Advanced data aggregation occurs at the Cloud level, allowing for multi-site and remote operating and reporting strategies. intelliSSL uses reliable ZigBee gateways to marshal the communication between mobile users and site specific smart devices; lighting, motion sensors and other smart devices. Smart devices are ZigBee enabled and take full advantage of the suite of mesh networking and security advantages that ZigBee provides.

Mesh Networking

intelliSSL leverages advanced ZigBee mesh networking topologies to bring the Internet of Things (IoT) to connected lights and sensors. In a mesh network, each member has the ability to both receive and transmit messages, allowing each device to extend the range of the network and establish multiple viable messaging routes inside the network.

One of the primary benefits of this architecture is fault tolerance. If an intermediary device falls offline or is overloaded, network traffic can be redirected around that “node” via alternative paths. These “self-healing” mesh networks look for the most efficient path available and will automatically re-route messages to avoid any failures.

Mesh networks also provide self-configuration, in that when a new device is added (or an existing device is moved) the network automatically determines device type (e.g. router or end device), the locations of surrounding nodes, and determines the best signal path through the network. After devices are configured, they regularly poll their neighbors to collect information about signal strength and possible faults, recalculating transmission routes if required.

moduLED™

moduLED is TSR's patented manufacturing technology that integrates SSLPlastics with injection molding to deliver advanced solutions. The integrated process offers high reliability and reduced assembly part counts, eliminating unnecesssary manufacturing processes. With no screws, adhesives or thermal interface pastes, moduLED provides truly superior integrated thermal strategy.

Antenna location and size is key in small form-factor wireless fixtures. TSR’s patented antenna design embeds the antenna into the housing or heat sink that is made of SSLPlastics. This greatly improves the operating distance of wireless signals.
